Now that I’m home, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed,
I’d like to open my baggage.
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry –
So much to regret.

Hmmm…Yes, there it is, right on top,
Let’s unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my perch hides my Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried hard to leave –
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn’t good enough – for they didn’t want me.

Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things –
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage, to never repack?

I pray that you do – I’m so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage –
Will you still want me?

” Baggage”

Now that I’m home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked into my warm new bed.
I would like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.

Hmm.. Yes there it is, right on the top-
Let’s unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave-
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn’t good enough - for they didn’t want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never re-pack?
I pray that you do - I’m so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?

-Author Evelyn Colbath:

This beautiful poem was written in memory of Jessie, a Scottish Terrier.
She was born into the tragic conditions of a puppy mill; abused, but rescued to live out her life in a loving, ‘forever’ home before she passed on to the Rainbow Bridge.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, fell down on the job, in my opinion.
Just fining the coah and the team and taking away a first round draft pick is NO real punishment for cheating.

Coach Belichick claiming he had “misinterpreted the league’s rules” is a crock of shit. The other league teams should be outraged and demand more punishment. If not for the Patriots now, for other violators in the future.

Fans should boycott games involving the Patriots, even if there home team is playing them. The Patriots and the NFL should not be rewarded with additional monetary gain; as their Super Bowl wins are at best questionable now, in my opinion.

I had hoped The Commisioner would have a set of balls and come down hard on those tarnishing the game. But maybe you have to kill a few dogs or have repeated run-ins with police to come close to a fitting punishment.

I’m disgusted with most all the heads of the various sports leagues. The NBA has gambling and game fixing issues, MLB has steroid use that’s seemingly ok as long as the players using, get fans in the seats (and that puts money in all the pockets) and now the NFL is hand-slapping teams for cheating.

Makes me wonder where the hell sportsmanship is, or if anyone but the fans really care?

Of course these are just my thoughts on the subject. I’m sure there are fans who don’t care by what means their team wins, that disagree with me. If that’s you, than you suck too.
