Well, yesterday, Mama Cat AKA Little Guy (the cat has nuts) was fat, bloated, belly hanging down with kittens…today, she’s not. So I’m assuming she’s had her litter, and is raising them under the house.
Her baby from a previous litter, Tommy Kitty AKA Baby kitty, is also sleeping under the house with her and his new siblings. I had hoped to somehow find the cash to get her spayed before another batch of kittens but it hasn’t worked out that way, I’m sad to say. :(
The mama of Mama Cat, I call her Grandma has surfaced again around the back door, too. I know strays have always liked me, why exactly I dunno, but women in my family have been helping strays (both animal and human) since as far back as my GG Grandparents, and probably beyond. I dunno where Grandma has been all this time or what happened to Mama Cats siblings, but least she is ok.
Stay tuned for future pics of the cats, and updates.

First off, I feel for those affected by the hurricane directly as well as indirectly (i.e. gas prices, food costs etc.)

The situation sucks for everyone. Those left homeless, those missing loved ones, those waiting on some sort of aid to come their way. I feel for those who’ve died waiting for help, due to the neglect of duty, by those who were and are in charge of coordinating the relief and recovery efforts.
I think the lot of folks in charge, local/state/govt. are all to blame for the fuck-ups in responding to Katrinas aftermath, and the needs of those affected…and not just those folks in New Orleans, but those folks in Mississippi, Alabama and parts of Florida.

The mayor of NO needs to answer for not sending those damn buses in to evacuate those in the lower lying areas and elsewhere who, because of financial means or mental and or physical limitations or all of the above could not get out on their own. What the fuck was he thinking????? Why was it that he could get his friends and/or buddies out of that hotel/motel but not the folks he was supposed to be representing and those most in need of help and evacuation?
Why also is a “Mandatory Evacuation” not truly mandatory? Either shit or get off the pot, either it’s mandatory or it’s voluntary, make up your mind. If it’s mandatory that means all people must leave. not just those who think it would be best and safer for them to do so.

And where the hell was the govenor in all this? She seemed (and still does seem) to be flip-flopping in regards to getting the folks out or let them stay. A part of your duty as govenor is to help your constituents and to guide them and keep them out of harms way. She clearly fucked up. She didn’t have her ducks in a row, and she doesn’t seem to work well with others and have a plan clearly outlined or in mind .Even though there was advanced warning of the hurricane and she knew, as well as many others in LA (and others in charge), that those levees would be fucked all to hell, with that size of a hurricance as the levees were only rated for a #3 hurricane, not a #4 or #5.

And the Govt., they needed to be on the ground sooner, and they should have insisted sooner that the state and local govt. get the hell on the ball and get the national guard and others who could do the job, On The Job…and Mchael Brown, former head of FEMA, should not have been head of FEMA to begin with. Denying entry of folks bringing aid , supplies and donations to the Gulf as well as taking supplies ear-marked for hospitals, that all falls directly on his head.
He seemed less able to handle the job of organizing aid, then a troop of boy scouts, who probbaly could have done a better job with their penchant for being prepared.

But they ALL fucked up. Not just one, not two but all three entities . Those pointing the finger at just one of them are doing an injustice to those who’ve already had to pay the high price because of those that faltered. There should have been a plan to get all folks out, with their pets, in a timely and safe manner.

Those in the political realm (in particular), pointing at just one entity, are only taking away the attention that should be focused on improving future measures of aid and evacuation, instead focusing that attention onto all the political bickering and backstabbing that seems to be the status quo, no matter who the hell is in office.
Are they acting the way their constituants want them to act, or for those lobby/special interest groups that paid money into their election coffers? They should be be busy doing their damn jobs, not just on being in front of the camera to bitch about their political rivals fucking up, cause Each party had folks that screwed up. They screwed up in a Big fucking way.

Which one of them finger-pointing idiots is focusing on getting and keeping gas prices down, and getting hybrid/non oil cars on lots and affordable for everyone in every income bracket or in fuel alternatives such as the bio-diesel?? So we, as a country are not devastated or robbed blind at the pump if the refineries are down for days or weeks? Who’s gonna call on thier buddies in the oil business to get them to stifle their greed, and cut prices so perhaps , instead of making a hundred million dollares in profit, they’d only make, say for example, only 90% of that? Who’s got the balls (or big hangin’ cunt lips) to suggest a public works program to rebuild and to provide jobs, as was done in the war(s) of the not so distant past?

Who’s gonna step up to the plate and ask about those indivuduals personal responsibility?
The folks who were not infirm or financially unable, who made a personal choice to stay in NO, and perhaps perished or went days without food or water… that was Their Personal Choice.
Why is it that “personal choice” only seems to come into political play or conversation, when it comes to getting an abortion?

Then there are those individuals who think being a sniper is fun, apparently, and/ or those who make excuses for that behavior. There is no reason for it. I don’t care if you’re desperate. I don’t care what color you are, what planet you’re from or even who the fuck you vote for.
If you’re shooting at those trying to save others, or those in need of saving, you should be shot with the weapon you’re using. There’s no reason for it, desperation or not. That’s a pitiful excuse bandied about by some who are wanting to make Katrina’s aftermath a racial hot button issue. Those same people would be scarce to find, if Salt Lake City had the same problems, they’d not be trying to use the race card then, now would they?

There are many questions that need to be answered as well as posed to those in charge, or formally in charge (as in the case of FEMA’s former head Michael Brown.)

I wonder if those questions will be asked or if it’ll remain the status quo and be just merely finger pointing and political bullshit?
Only time will tell.
